Ask Flex / Automating repetitive tasks
How do you write a memo?
Put To, From, Date and Subject at the top, then say what changed, what you need people to do, and by when, in that order. A good memo fits on half a page, because it's a notice, not a letter.
A memo is a notice.
Subject line says the change
"New parking passes start June 1."
First line is the point
No warm-up. Say the thing.
One ask, one date
What to do and by when, in one line.
Let AI draft it
Give it the facts. It gets the shape right.
Here's what I need to tell people: [the change, who it affects, what they need to do, by when]. Write it as a short memo with To, From, Date and Subject at the top, the point in the first line, and one clear ask. Under 150 words. Leave my name in brackets.

What is a memo used for?
A memo tells a group of people inside a company one thing: a change, a reminder, a decision. It's a notice, not a conversation.
When should I write a memo instead of an email?
When a group needs the same notice and you want it to read as official. Many offices just send the memo as an email.
Can I use AI to write the memo?
Yes. Give it the four facts and it drafts the whole thing. Flex has a page on it.
