Ask Flex / Drowning in emails

Ask Flex

How do you stop getting emails from apps?

"How do I stop getting emails from apps? Half my inbox is robots telling me things I already know."You asked Google. Flex answered.

Flex's short answer

Open one of the emails, scroll to the very bottom, and tap Unsubscribe or the link for email settings. If there's no link, open the app itself and turn off email notices in its settings.

✱ Flex's tips

Quiet the robots.

1

Scroll to the bottom

Unsubscribe lives in the tiny print.

2

Fix it inside the app

Look in settings for notifications, then email.

3

Do five a day

A week of that and the inbox is quieter.

4

Ask before you mute work ones

If your company's system sends it, check first.

Try this in your own Claude or ChatGPT

Here are the apps and websites that keep emailing me, with nothing private in the list: [list them]. For each one, tell me where the setting to turn off its emails usually lives, and which ones are probably worth keeping.

Before you paste work stuff into any AI, check what your company allows.
